Audrain County Issues COVID-19 Health Advisory

Southwest Missouri is a hot spot for COVID-19 infections and Craig Brace doesn’t want Audrain County to become the next one. Brace is the administrator and CEO of the Audrain County Health Department. He issued a health advisory Wednesday recommending COVID-19 vaccinations for all unvaccinated adults and children 12 and older. Audrain County has seen a five-fold increase in the number of positive cases since June 30, he said in a press release. The county now has 20 confirmed cases with 17 probable cases. Twenty-seven percent of Audrain residents are fully vaccinated, he said, and he wants to boost that number. The majority of the county s new infections are among the unvaccinated, according to the release.
