Christopher Hughes, 26, has spent the past three months behind bars on remand since he was arrested and charged with murder earlier this year. The 26-year-old is accused of being behind the wheel of a Holden Statesman that was involved in a tragic crash on Friday, February 5, 2021. Bail application documents were filed in the Cairns Supreme Court on Wednesday with the hearing set to go before a judge next Friday. Police allege Hughes was dangerously chasing a stolen Hyundai through Townsville rammed the other vehicle on Ross River Rd.

Jennifer Board, 22, died on the scene in Thuringowa Central in Townsville, after she was rammed by a Holden Statesman that was following a stolen Hyundai Sedan during a suspected high-speed chase in January.  A 17-year-old boy who was allegedly in the Hyundai has been charged with a series of driving and stealing crimes after being arrested on Thursday in Mackay. Fourth teen charged after bolting from fatal crash

News by Shayla Bulloch Premium Content   A fourth teenager has been charged for his alleged involvement in a stolen car crash that killed Jennifer Board. The 17-year-old Townsville boy who was a passenger in the alleged stolen car was arrested on Thursday in Mackay after going to ground for two weeks. The boy joins alleged driver, Gregory Club, 18, another passenger Layne Newman, 18, and another teenage girl who were all allegedly in the car the night of February 5. Police allege the stolen car was rammed by another car, allegedly driven by Chris Hughes, who then lost control and veered across Ross River Rd into the path of Ms Board s motorbike.
