Village of Goshen Police Department arrested a 26-year-old Brooklyn man last Saturday, May 1, after an investigation into what police described as a scam phone call to a village resident.
According to the press release from Chief James C. Watt, the caller claimed to be the victim’s son who had been in a car accident and needed cash bail.
Police said Kelvin A. Fernandez was arrested after he came to the victim’s home to pick up $30,300 cash bail.
He was charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny, an E-felony, criminal possession of a forged instrument, an A-misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor.
