The Women of Whitworth (WoW) Project held a virtual Wellness Weekend event on 15-16 May.
WoW co-founder Liz Prior and funding advisor Naomi Kenyon organised the weekend, which coincided with Mental Health Awareness Week, including lots of online taster sessions for residents: Pilates, yoga, tai chi, street dance, top tips for pain management and posture, nutritious cooking, journaling, mindfulness colouring, eco crafts and more.
Each resident received a wellness pack with details of support services available to them locally and some treats to encourage healthy living.
Kimberley Ashworth, founder of The Women of Whitworth Project, said: “It’s been a really difficult 13 months for everyone. With this event, we wanted to provide an opportunity to relax and enjoy a number of fun sessions, whilst remaining covid-safe. We had a real mix of singles, couple and whole families taking part.
