President Joe Biden’s favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate chip, but if there is a giant freezer stocked with the stuff at the White House, press secretary Jen Psaki has yet to find it.
Psaki made the revelation in a video clip posted on the White House Twitter feed on Sunday – 2.6 million views and counting – as she answered a range of questions tweeted to her.
“President Biden is a big ice cream fan, so does that giant freezer full of ice cream really exist?” read one such tweet.

This is Farah Parsa’s variation on the traditional Iranian dish tahchin, saturated with the flavor and color of saffron, light from the addition of yogurt and given crunch from a dome of tahdig, the crisp layer of rice formed on the bottom of the pot. A few handfuls of ruby barberries have been scattered on top and around the sides; optional pulled chicken, sliced eggplant or filleted salmon may surround the perimeter or be draped over the top. Tahchin is designed to feed a crowd, though Golden Rice Co. has started offering individual sizes as well.

To end the year on a sweet note, Salt & Straw, a Portland-based ice cream company, is announcing the highly-anticipated opening of its first East Coast scoop shops in early 2021. The small-batch ice cream brand will open shops in Wynwood and Coconut Grove serving up their curiously delicious flavors as well as some Miami-inspired creations with local community partners. Wynwood (240 NW 25th St. Suite M) will open first in January 2021 with Coconut Grove (3015 Grand Ave #145) opening shortly after in February 2021.
