Users also complained about the venue being smaller than the old town hall and the kitchen being “a bit small for catering”. Last November, councilwoman Jane Dunn resigned from the Rangitīkei District Council in protest over the council s refusal to immediately install changing rooms. The council opted instead to push the discussion to a February meeting once feedback could be gathered. At this meeting, the council did not feel prepared to make a decision and delayed the discussion until March. The centre was designed for all rooms to be multipurpose, so any room in the building could be used to change in.

Rangitīkei District’s newest councillor says improving the water quality in her ward is a top priority.
Coral Raukawa-Manuel is well ahead on votes in the by-election to fill the southern ward seat of Jane Dunn, who resigned in November in protest at the lack of changing facilities at the Bulls Community Centre.
The Marton resident is an education manager at Te Rūnanga o Ngā Wairiki Ngāti Apa, and she has whakapapa links to Turakina and Rātana.
She says the infrastructure in all the rural townships needs work.
