Two found dead at home in west Galveston County

GALVESTON COUNTY - The Galveston County Sheriff s Office is investigating the death of two people found at a house on Old Alvin Road and FM 517.
Investigators were called to the scene around 3:45 a.m.
According to the sheriff s office, whether this is a double homicide or a murder/suicide has yet to be determined.
At the time of writing this story, investigators are waiting on a search warrant to continue the investigation inside the house.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas Galveston County residents can feel a little safer after a multi-agency operation took pounds of drugs, dozens of guns and nearly 50 gang members off their streets.
Operation Washout was a 10-day effort that resulted in 123 arrests (44 gang members), the seizure of 34 guns, more than $20,000 in cash and more than 18 pounds of drugs.

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) After conducting a 10-day crackdown on violent crime, law enforcement in Galveston County said they made a total of 123 arrests.
Galveston County s Operation Washout was conducted between Jan. 5 and Jan. 15. Among those arrested include 44 gang members. Authorities add they also seized 32 guns, more than $20,000 in cash, and more than 40 pounds of narcotics.
The county said it partnered with state and local agencies to conduct the operation, focused on investigation and arrests of violent fugitives and gang members with active warrants.

BACLIFF, Texas (KTRK) A Dickinson ISD student was reportedly caught carrying a gun in their backpack on campus on Monday.
A fourth grade student at K.E. Little Elementary brought a loaded gun to school on Monday morning, according to an email sent to parents.
Around 8:20 a.m., before the school day started, another student told a teacher that one of the fourth grade students was hiding a gun in his or her backpack.
The teacher alerted the principal, who searched the 9-year-old s backpack and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun. It was confiscated and handed over to the Galveston County Sheriff s Office.
