Beacon Community Services names Gueulette CEO Tricia Gueulette has been named chief executive of Beacon ­Community Services effective June 10. She will succeed Bob Boulter, who announced his intention to step down from the position. “Tricia has strong roots in the community, a good business sense and a passion for building and supporting inclusive and resilient communities,” said Carla Robinson, chair of ­Beacon’s board of directors. Boulter will remain in the CEO role until Gueulette assumes office. Gueulette’s professional ­background includes about 20 years of executive and senior leadership positions in community, employment, and vocational rehabilitation services across Canada. Her most recent role was leading the Canadian Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Services program on behalf of March of Dimes Canada and WCG Services, headquartered in Victoria.

Haltwhistle pub ready to welcome customer indoors

A pub, restaurant and hotel in the Tyne Valley is ready to welcome back customers indoors following the easing of lockdown restrictions earlier this week. The Manor House in Haltwhistle re-opened its indoor areas to customers on Monday (May 17) for meals, drinks and also for overnight stays. “We reopened (outdoors) on the second weekend in April (five days after we could have),” said the businesses manager Carla Robinson “We could have opened on the day the rules changed but we decided just to do the weekend because we weren’t sure how it was (going to be). “The weekends have been really busy

College Station City Council adopts ROO option for neighborhoods

At 4 p.m. on Monday, April 19, the City of College Station held a special meeting to vote on enacting a Restricted Occupancy Overlay, or ROO, within specific communities of the city. Following the call to order, Alyssa Halle-Schramm, the project manager for the ROO ordinance, gave an overview of the ordinance. Halle-Schramm said the city council began planning the ordinance early in 2020, workshopping with the Planning & Zoning Commission. After a meeting in August, the city council took time to review what the definition of family included. Halle-Schramm said the council held meetings for public input and drafted a proposed ordinance. The proposed ordinance changes the current housing ordinance to where only two unrelated people may live in one household in certain zoning districts, opposed to the four unrelated people residing in a household which is currently allowed. Lynn A. Robinson Lynn A. Robinson, 82, of Howard, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on Aug. 19, 1938, in Romola, he was the son of the late Floyd and Blanch (Weaver) Robinson, Sr. On Oct. 27, 1956, in Rote, he married Joyce A. Weaver, who survives at home. Lynn was a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He worked at AC&C in Lock Haven for over 27 years and then worked in the maintenance department at the Bald Eagle Area School District, retiring in 2005 after 17 years of service. Lynn enjoyed hunting, camping, and being in the outdoors. He loved to attend his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and liked hearing of all their activities.

The little company, Carla’s Crazy Crunch, was almost crushed after a legal battle with a massive corporation, all because of its name. The end of the name – Crunch – is why the Nestle Food company claimed trademark infringement. Ironically, what could have been a dead end for the Tulsa company, turned out to be the biggest thing that happened to them. In Carla Robinson s wildest dreams, she never imagined she would be on QVC, describing her homemade sweet snack to thousands. It started small, in a kitchen almost four years ago.
