Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputies recovered the body of a 50-year-old woman Saturday after her car was swept away and buried by a landslide in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this month.
Jennifer Moore, 50, was driving her SUV as part of a caravan of cars of family members who were evacuating the Warrendale area shortly after midnight Jan. 13. Authorities had advised residents of the area to leave their homes due to torrential rains that night that had increased the risk of flash floods and landslides.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputies recovered the body of a 50-year-old woman Saturday after her car was swept away and buried by a landslide in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this month.
Jennifer Moore was driving her SUV as part of a caravan of cars of family members who were evacuating the Dodson and Warrendale areas at about 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 13. Authorities had advised residents of the area to leave their homes due to torrential rains that night that had increased the risk of flash floods and landslides.
