Owen Duffy went into beast mode with seven goals to lead the Friars to a 15-11 win over rival Chaminade (N.Y.), but he wasn’t the only standout.
Andrew McAdorey had two goals and four assists, Mike Leo added three goals and one helper and Jordan Naso went 17-for-30 on faceoffs. Wins over Iona Prep (N.Y.) and Fordham Prep (N.Y.) followed for the Friars, which are now the no-doubt top team in the national rankings.
The Flyers bounced back from a tight loss to St. Anthony’s to defeat Delbarton (N.J.) 8-6. Charles Balsamo led with four goals and one assist, Ben Bonafede had one goal and one assist, Mac Rodriguez added a pair of helpers and Alex Zepf made 10 saves.

Georgetown Visitation edged Bishop Ireton (Va.) 10-9 in overtime Wednesday on Molly McGuckin’s third goal of the game, and the Cubs are now No. 1.
McGuckin also had six draw controls and keyed the Cubs’ second-half possession. Sally Zinsner scored two goals, and Allie Boyce, Molly Finlay, Ella O, Megan Meyers and Madison Rassas all had one goal apiece.
The defense held Ireton scoreless over the final four minutes. Their next game isn’t scheduled until May 17 against Paul VI (Va.).

GREENSBORO, N.C. Grimsley High’s football team has done it! The Whirlies beat Cardinal Gibbons to win their first state title in 61 years!
Grimsley went into the half 14-2 against Cardinal Gibbons. They scored another touchdown quick in the second half to bring it to 21-2. Then Cardinal Gibbons scored a touchdown bringing the score to 21-8. Grimsley then intercepted the ball for a touchdown bringing it to 28-8.
Grimsley came out on top in the end to take home a 4A state title!
