GREENSBORO â Morgan Radford holds onto the rejection letter she received in 2011 from a television producer in her hometown.
Back then, Radford had received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, spent a year in South Africa on a Fulbright Scholarship and interned for CNN.
Wanting to tell news stories on TV, she applied to stations stretching from her native Greensboro to Juneau, Alaska.
They all said no.
âMorgan,â the local producer wrote. âYou have a GREAT reel for this stage in your young career. I canât hire you here because Iâm looking for someone with more âstreetâ experience.â
âBut,â the producer added, âyouâre going to do extremely well in this business.â

Greensboro, N.C. Page last saw the hardwood on Feb. 27 in Charlotte. The Pirates were defeated 57-16 by (2) Olympic, an eventual 4A western regional finalist, in the second round. Those returning players are vying to get back to work for improvement on a campaign that went above some expectations.
The 2019-20 season featured much change for the varsity boys basketball team that plays home games inside Mac Morris Gymnasium. Page finished 16-12, while going 4-4 in Metro 4A Conference play. The Pirates played for a conference tournament title before falling against Northwest Guilford (74-60), then was an 18-seed in the 4A playoffs prior to bowing out in the second round. There were many variables going into the year like a new head coach, new players having increased roles, new coaching practices being put into place, and more.
