Apple Valley, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Twin Cities man has been sentenced to five years in prison for an arson conviction stemming from the rioting in the Twin Cities last May.
25-year-old Garrett Ziegler of Long Lake pleaded guilty yesterday to a federal charge of aiding and abetting arson. According to federal prosecutors, He and another man were accused of breaking out windows in the Dakota County Government Center building in Apple Valley before throwing multiple Molotov cocktails through the broken windows in the early morning hours of May 29th last year. The two men are also accused of starting and attempting to start fires in the government building by pouring flammable liquids and unlit Molotov cocktails in and around the openings and starting igniting the accelerants.
