Volunteers helped collect almost six tonnes of rubbish across 72 locations in the region.
“It’s not as bad actually as what it has been in the past, obviously there’s some beer bottles, and things like that and plastic water bottles.” – Cr. Kay Fraser, Lake Macquarie Mayor.
The rubbish collected today will be examined to help drive down littering across the region.
