McCormick said the village’s existing rules for yard debris will apply during the extension. Burning is allowed for yard debris only and must be conducted on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. At about 12:50 p.m. Thursday, a large portion of a tree fell into power lines at the intersection of Pearl Street and Lake Street, breaking cross arms on a power pole and causing an outage for more than 1,500 Ameren Illinois customers.

The restaurant, which was severely damaged in an October fire, previously did not have a drive-up window. No date has been set for the restaurant’s reopening.
