Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of those who died in an accident in Madhya Pradesh s Vidisha district.
Highlights Eleven bodies were recovered from the well in Ganj Basoda area on late Friday night.
Earlier, MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had declared to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the next of kin of those who died in the incident.
The last body retrieved from the well was that of the boy.
New Delhi: Expressing grief over the lives lost, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (July 16) announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of those who died after falling into a well in the Ganj Basoda area in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha. Eleven bodies were recovered from the well in Ganj Basoda area on late Friday night, PTI reported.

The toll in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district rose to 11 on Friday after several villagers had fallen into a well while trying to rescue a boy who was in it already, PTI reported.
The incident took place on Thursday night at Lal Patar village in Ganj Basoda area, about 50 kilometres from the district headquarters. A group of villagers had gathered to watch the rescue of a 10-year-old boy from the well, when the parapet wall collapsed due to their weight.
