Second phase of voting took place in Assam today

Supporters of the BJP and its rival AIUDF clashed in Assam’s Barak Valley today as voting for the second phase of the election was about to end. In order to restore order in the weary city, the police had to accuse the mob with baton. Officials said some policemen fired blank bullets into the air to prevent the crowd from becoming uncontrollable.
The late-evening event marked only the largest electoral violence in Assam in the last few weeks, with only one hour to vote.
The second phase of the Assam assembly election saw voting in 39 seats.
