Two people injured in UTV crash east of Purdy
Two men were injured and one was arrested following a wreck at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday on Farm Road 2070, four miles east of Purdy.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rylee Ozbun, 20, of Verona, was driving a 2021 Polaris UTV eastbound when his vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a culvert, ejecting both occupants.
Ozbun and a passenger in the UTV, Austin Powell, 23, of Granby, both suffered moderate injuries and were both transported by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital.
Neither were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.

The City of Monett is starting a flushing program for the water system. The water department is using a process called Unidirectional Flushing, which is designed to bring the water through the system in a controlled fashion at velocities sufficient to provide a scouring action within the distribution piping. The process will help remove scale and debris from pipes and valves to improve the quality of drinking water by providing better chlorine treatment. When our crews are working in the area, residents may experience water that is murky due to the process. When crews finish work in an area, the city recommends residents run their water for a few minutes from a hydrant or tub. Residents should be sure to run cold water until it is clear so they dont pull the water with some color to it into hot water heaters. The city does not recommend washing clothes, especially whites, when crews are in the area doing this work. The city will hang door tags a few day
