It could be the end for former pavilion in Broughty Ferry says Craig Duncan

The derelict pavilion on the Esplanade in Broughty Ferry was once the site of tennis courts and a putting green. But it has fallen into disrepair, and in recent years has attracted drug users, rough sleepers and vandalism. Local councillor Craig Duncan said: “I think the time has come for the very last chance to save the pavilion. “I thought perhaps a local charity might come forward with a view to refurbishing it for their own use.

Laying dead to rest in unmarked shared graves in Dundee and Angus not sign of a civilised society

Sign Up The use of unmarked shared graves for the poorest in Dundee and Angus should be reviewed and is not a sign of a “civilised society”, a city councillor has claimed. The two councils currently lay one coffin on top of another in three-tiered graves when an individual or their family do not provide funds after death. Both insist the practice is dignified, although family and friends are barred from laying tributes or flowers.

Fury over lockdown litter piling up in Broughty Ferry
© Supplied by craig duncan Litter in Broughty Ferry. Calls have been made for walkers to show more care for footpaths and walkways after piles of discarded coffee cups and litter began mounting in recent days. Broughty Ferry councillor Craig Duncan said he was appalled and disgusted on his daily walk at the weekend when he came across dozens of discarded cardboard coffee cups. He said he was horrified at how disrespectful people were being to their own community and is now appealing to those out on their walk to make sure they take their own “lockdown litter” home. Mr Duncan said: “I have received loads of complaints about the rubbish that has been left strewn all around the walkway and cycle way between Douglas Terrace and the grassy beach area in Broughty Ferry.
