CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit on Wednesday invited DMK legislature party leader M K Stalin to form the next government in the state. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Raj Bhavan at 9am on Friday.
On Wednesday morning, Stalin called on the governor to stake claim to form the government. He was accompanied by party senior leaders S Durai Murugan, T R Balu, K N Nehru and R S Bharathi.
Stalin presented a resolution unanimously passed by DMK legislature party in its meeting on Tuesday. The meeting lasted 20 minutes.

Stalin presented a resolution unanimously passed by DMK legislature party in its meeting on Tuesday. He submitted the letter of support from all the 133 MLAs, including 125 DMK MLAs and eight MLAs of alliances contested on the DMK symbol, to the governor.
