Kennedy Ellis, a senior at Alpena High School, will be receiving the Traverse City Junior Golf Association (TCJGA) Bruce Keillor Memorial Scholarship this year as part of the TCJGA yearly scholarship program.
Ellis has been a member of the association for several years and has been participating in tournaments and as a volunteer for younger kids as part of lessons at the Bay Meadows Family Golf Course in Traverse City.
Ellis plans to attend Olivet College.
The Traverse City Junior Golf Association (TCJGA) College Scholarship program began in 1994 and, over the past 27 years, has given over $347,000 in college educational funds to the TCJGA membership. This program is financed through an annual TCJGA Tournament, several memorial scholarships, plus TCJGA sponsors and donors.
Graduates of Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School who have completed their first year of college are invited to apply for the Julia Bowen Bridge to College Scholarship. The scholarship fund was established in 2017 to honor Bowen, BARTâs founding executive director.
A scholarship of up to $1,000 will be awarded to a BART alumnus or alumna who has successfully completed year one of college. Assuming successful completion of the school year, the award will be continued for successive years. The award does not need to be used for tuition.
