Photo: PTI/File Women03/Mar/2021 New Delhi: A group of more than 4,000 women’s rights activists, progressive groups and concerned citizens have written an open letter to Chief Justice of India S.A. Bobde, saying that he must resign for asking a rapist to marry his schoolgoing victim and justifying marital rape in the Supreme Court. While hearing the bail request of a government employee, a bench headed by CJI Bobde recently told the man, one Mohit Subhash Chavan, “If you want to marry we can help you. If not, you lose your job and go to jail. You seduced the girl, raped her.”
