A MAN whose car crashed off the Grane Road and ended up in a field was later found to be over the limit for cannabis. Blackburn magistrates heard Fayaz Waka was taken to hospital with head and other injuries following the crash close to the Grey Mare pub. Waka, 22, of Kirkland Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to drug driving, driving other than in accordance with a licence and without insurance. He was fined £200 with £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge and banned from driving for two years. Samantha Hayward, prosecuting, said the road traffic accident happened at 8pm and when police arrived Waka and his passenger were still in the car which was in a field.
