(WSIL) A Tennessee woman was injured Wednesday morning when the vehicle she was driving rear-ended a tractor-trailer rig stopped in traffic.
Edgar Venable, 63 of Worden, Illinois, told Paducah police he was stopped in the right-hand lane of I-24 when a van hit the back of his trailer.
Amaya Cox, 20 of Shelbyville, Tennessee, was being treated for injuries and officers were unable to interview her at the scene, but witnesses confirms Venable s account of the crash.
Cox was taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
Officers reported Cox’s inattention was a contributing factor in the crash.

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky surpassed the 10-thousand mark for COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Lourdes Hospital vaccination team, as of Wednesday, has administered 10,744 vaccinations.
Mercy Health officials said they are now expanding their vaccine eligibility to all Kentucky residents who are 16-years-and-older.
The health system had already begun administrating the Pfizer vaccine to those meeting the guidelines outlined by the Kentucky Department for Public Health in the 1A, 1B, and 1C Tiers. What everybody is aiming towards, of course, is herd immunity.
