Jakarta (ANTARA) - The East Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) handed out food to flood victims in several residential areas after the Ciliwung River overflowed its bank since Sunday afternoon. The PMI will distribute food at four locations that bore the brunt of the flooding, she remarked.

Two suspected suicide bombings near a bus terminal in Indonesia s capital killed three policemen and injured ten other people, including five officers, police said. National police spokesman Setyo Wasisto on Wednesday said there were two explosions by two suicide bombers. I expressed my deep condolence, in fact three policemen were killed , Wasisto said. There were explosions and latest investigation found that there are two suicide bombers, all men.
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has reiterated that the responsibility of reparations for the victims of past gross human rights violations, including acts of terrorism, is in the hands of the government. He also stressed the government’s commitment to uphold the rights of all citizens during a public ceremony on Wednesday to hand over compensation to terror victims.
“The reparation to victims of crimes, including the victims of gross human rights violations and acts of terror, is part of the state’s responsibility to be present to provide protection and uphold the victims’ rights,” Jokowi said in the ceremony on Dec. 16 at the State Palace, which was livestreamed on the Sekretariat Presiden YouTube channel.

JAKARTA (Xinhua): The Indonesian government has granted compensation to more than 200 people who were impacted by past terrorist acts in the country.
On Wednesday (Dec 16) at the Presidential Palace, President Joko Widodo gave the compensation amounting to Rp39.20 billion (US$2.77 million) to 215 victims of 40 past terrorist incidents.
Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, said that providing compensation is one of the country s responsibilities to victims who have been waiting for it for a dozen years.
