JAKARTA (Xinhua): The Indonesian government has granted compensation to more than 200 people who were impacted by past terrorist acts in the country.
On Wednesday (Dec 16) at the Presidential Palace, President Joko Widodo gave the compensation amounting to Rp39.20 billion (US$2.77 million) to 215 victims of 40 past terrorist incidents.
Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, said that providing compensation is one of the country's responsibilities to victims who have been waiting for it for a dozen years.
