RYE A Rye woman who sustained burns and was hospitalized in Boston after a two-alarm house fire on Feb. 28 has died, according to Fire Chief Mark Cotreau.
Judy Bly, 66, succumbed to her injuries and pre-existing conditions on Sunday, according to her family, just over one month since her family’s home on 7 Holland Drive was destroyed by the blaze.
Her son, Jordan Bly, 29, is remembering his mother as someone who was loving and lighthearted, “never too serious” and was a gracious host.
“Something that I’ve been repeating, unfortunately, is that I knew it was coming. It’s inevitable, it’s life,” he said. “But not like this. This is crazy.”
