Howwood Pavilion A LOCAL community are looking to take over an unused pavilion in a Renfrewshire park. Friends of Howwood Park are bidding to run the pavilion on a ten year lease as part of an application for a Community Asset Transfer. The group have plans to refurbish the building by adding an accessible toilet and baby changing area in order to bring it back into community use. It is hoped the pavilion will also be used as a changing area for local football teams and as a hub for youth clubs and walking groups. The community-minded campaigners have already transformed the play park with new equipment including swings, a zip slide, roundabout and climbing frame which has sen visitor numbers increase.
The bin change you must know about this festive period Locals are being reminded that bin collections will change over the festive period this year. Renfrewshire Council have issued collection calendars to every home within the area advising of the change to the normal schedule. Collections due on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day will take place one day later for grey, brown and food bins, and two days later for blue and green recycling bins. There will also be no collections taking place on Christmas Day or New Year s Day. Scheduled collections for properties with shared bins will take place one day earlier from Monday, December 21 and will return to normal from Monday, January 4.
