RPSO Arrest Boyce Resident on Multiple Narcotics Charges

Jacob Wayne Barron, 42 of Boyce, was currently on probation through Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole for an arrest in March 2019, by the Sulphur Police Department. At that time, Barron was arrested for transporting over 2lbs of methamphetamine on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish. Barron was tried and convicted in November 2020, and sentenced to eight years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Barron’s sentence was suspended and he was placed on three years of state supervised probation. Since then, Rapides Area Drug Enforcement agents notified Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole of the complaints and their ongoing investigation into the allegations of Barron selling large amounts of methamphetamine. (KPLC) - A Sulphur man is under arrest for aggravated cruelty to animals. Officials with the Sulphur Police Department said Austin Lebrun, 21, told officers that he had locked the dog, Sadie, in a bedroom and had not checked on her in three to four weeks. Lebrun said he would stop by the house multiple times during the week and assumed she died but never opened the door to look, Capt. Jason Gully said in a news release.

(KPLC) - A Sulphur man has been severely injured by dogs while visiting a family member, according to the Sulphur Police Department. Capt. Jason Gully says officers were dispatched to a residence on Platt St. regarding a dog attack around 10:30 a.m. on May 6, 2021. When officers arrived they found a man on the ground inside a fenced-in yard who was being attacked by three large dogs. Officers used a taser on one of the dogs resulting in all three dogs moving away from the man.
