Jacob Wayne Barron, 42 of Boyce, was currently on probation through Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole for an arrest in March 2019, by the Sulphur Police Department. At that time, Barron was arrested for transporting over 2lbs of methamphetamine on I-10 in Calcasieu Parish. Barron was tried and convicted in November 2020, and sentenced to eight years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Barronâs sentence was suspended and he was placed on three years of state supervised probation.
Since then, Rapides Area Drug Enforcement agents notified Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole of the complaints and their ongoing investigation into the allegations of Barron selling large amounts of methamphetamine. On the afternoon of June 17, 2021, Probation and Parole Agents were performing a residence check at 124 Mudge Road, Boyce, when they observed pills and drug paraphernalia in plain view. SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - A Sulphur man has been severely injured by dogs while visiting a family member, according to the Sulphur Police Department.
Capt. Jason Gully says officers were dispatched to a residence on Platt St. regarding a dog attack around 10:30 a.m. on May 6, 2021.
When officers arrived they found a man on the ground inside a fenced-in yard who was being attacked by three large dogs. Officers used a taser on one of the dogs resulting in all three dogs moving away from the man.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Sulphur Police are investigating a shooting that took place near the intersection of Cain Street and Laurent Avenue Friday night.
According to police, A man got out of a white Dodge Charger and fired rounds at two people who were walking. One of those walking was able to fire back.
At the time the shooting took place, 3:11 p.m., school had just been let out.
