The Blue Flag will once again be flying this season at the Trent Port Marina in Quinte West.
This week the municipality announced that the marina is one of 10 in the county flying the flag.
The Blue Flag certification is an international award that recognizes an area that has the highest environmental, accessibility and sustainability standards.
“The Blue Flag program along with other environmental initiatives including the Great Lakes Cleanup Project and Boating Ontario’s Clean Marine program, is a key focus of our efforts to operate Trent Port Marina in an environmentally sustainable manner,” said Kathy Lammers, manager of marina and waterfront facilities.

Trent Port Marina is the only marine facility in Quinte to receive the designation.
“A Blue Flag is recognized around the world as a symbol for accessible, sustainable beaches and marinas. With people staying close to home, people are looking for places to connect with the water. We are thrilled to highlight the best beaches and marinas Canada has to offer,” said Mattson.
