MUMBAI: The death toll in the December 6 cylinder blast-fire incident in Mumbai s Lalbaug area reached 10 after a 45-year-old woman succumbed to injuries, a civic official said on Monday.
Vaishali, who was injured in the incident that took place in a second floor flat of Sarabai building in Ganesh Galli locality, died in Masina hospital in Byculla on Sunday, he said. Of the 16 people who were injured in the incident, 10 have now died. Of the rest six, three have been discharged from KEM Hospital and three are admitted in Masina hospital and their condition is stable, he added.

Lalbaug has risen to 10. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (
BMC), the death toll rose to 10 after a 45-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.
The woman, identified as Vaishali, was injured in the incident which took place in a flat on the second floor of Sarabai building in Ganesh Galli locality. She passed away in Masina Hospital in Byculla.
16 people were injured in the incident. Presently, three people have been discharged from KEM Hospital while the other three are still in Masina Hospital. Their condition is reportedly stable.

One more person died on Sunday, taking the death toll in the cylinder blast incident at Lalbaug to 10. The deceased, identified as Vaishali (45) succumbed to her injuries on Sunday night around 9 pm at Masina Hospital, where she was admitted on December 6. She was the last of the admitted patients who was in a critical state since the past few weeks.
Vaishali was injured by the fire caused due to a cylinder blast in a second floor flat of Sarabhai Building at Ganesh Galli, Lalbaug. Sources in the hospital stated that she was in a critical state already when she was brought to the hospital. In the following few days, her condition further deteriorated.
