Mumbai: Death toll rises to six; seven critical in Haldi day cylinder in Lalbaug Photo: BL Soni Mumbai: One more person who had sustained serious burn injuries after a leaking LPG cylinder exploded in the midst of a pre-wedding (haldi) ritual on the second floor of ground plus four-storey residential building in Lalbaug s Ganesh Galli on December 6, died on Saturday. The death toll has now risen to six and seven more are in critical condition, while three have been discharged. The deceased has been identified as Vinayak Shinde (57). Besides, Sushila Bangare (62) was declared dead on the day of the incident. Karim (50), Mangesh Rane (61), Mahesh Munge (56) and Dnyandev Sawant (85) are the others who have died in the blast.

Death toll in Lalbaug fire incident rises to six Photo: BL Soni One more person died on Saturday night, taking the death toll in the cylinder blast incident at Lalbaug to six. The deceased, identified as Vinayak Shinde (57), succumbed to his injury on Saturday evening at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEM) hospital, where he was admitted on December 6. Shinde was injured by the fire caused due to a cylinder blast in a second floor flat of the Sarabhai Building at Ganesh Galli, Lalbaugh. Sources in the hospital stated he was in a critical state already when he was brought to the hospital. In the following few days, his condition further deteriorated.
