Modular specialist Jan Snel, owned by Japan s Daiwa House, has officially launched a UK arm.
Based in Swansea, the firm plans to focus on residential projects, but will also look for opportunities in the healthcare, education and commercial markets, it said in a statement.
The operation is being led by country manager Ben Pemberton, who joined the Netherlands-headquartered firm in April last year and brought more than decade of experience at offsite specialists in this country.
The company said it is also in talks with the Welsh Government about opening a modular factory.
Chief executive Harry van Zandwijk said Jan Snel aims to combine its modular construction experience with local knowledge. “In the UK – particularly in the social housing sector – there is an urgent need for high-quality accommodation that can be delivered quickly,” he added.
