Today, we are seeing a mix sun and clouds with some scattered showers with a few storms possible through the afternoon and evening hours. Highs today will mainly be in the upper 80s. For tomorrow, a surface front will push into Alabama allowing for a better coverage of showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours. A few strong storms can’t be ruled out and the SPC maintains a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) along and north of Interstate 59 as a few storms could produce gusty winds and hail.
IN THE TROPICS: All is quiet across the Atlantic Basin and tropical cyclone development is not expected the next five days. Hurricane officially begins next Tuesday, June 1st.

The upper-level ridge over the region is beginning to loosen its grip on our weather, and this will allow for a few pop-up showers over the northern half of Alabama today and tonight, but most locations look to remain dry.

Little change in the day to day forecast this week as we remain under the influence of the upper-level ridge. We are seeing more sun than clouds again today and temperatures are once gain climbing into the low and mid-90s across all of Alabama.
Not much change in the forecast for tomorrow as the hot and dry pattern persist. Late tomorrow, the ridge does start to break down a bit, so that could allow for a few showers to develop over far northwestern portions of the state.
SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE: With the ridge loosening its grip some, and the surface high sliding to the southeast, we begin to see a more southerly flow across the state, allowing moisture levels to creep up. This could allow for a few pop-up showers over the northern half third of Alabama Thursday, but even there, these will be few and far between. However, by Friday a weak front will push into Alabama allowing for a better coverage of showers and storms Friday a
