Mumbai, Noida, capitals of southern states witness good demand
IT companies, in spite of work-from-home (WFH) declared by them due to Covid-19 pandemic in the last six months, with their robust hiring, have committed over two million square feet of office space in the western, southern and northern regions of the country.
“Due to the pandemic and WFH, the office market, though there would be surrendering or ending of office space leases, but IT companies looking at their last two quarters hiring plans have begun to commit huge spaces in Mumbai and Noida, in addition to southern states’ capitals,” Karan Singh Sodi, Regional Managing Director, JLL India, told

Staff provide firsthand accounts as balance of work changed.
A former Home Affairs IT support manager has provided a rare first-person account of the arrival and encroachment of an outsourcer, as part of an unsuccessful unfair dismissal claim.
Paul Martin filed an unfair dismissal case against the department in August 2020, alleging that his seniority and work function had reduced significantly over the past six years, leaving him with “no reasonable choice other than to undertake a forced resignation”.
The department was also accused of outsourcing more of its IT support than originally envisaged under a 2014-15 program, with existing staff gradually moved to lower-level administrative work.
