WHEELING The Ohio County Public Library’s next Lunch With Books Live Stream event will welcome Dr. Verna Kale, who will explore the life and works of Ernest Hemingway.
The event will take place at noon on Tuesday, April 6, virtually online.
Hemingway is one of the most famous and yet misunderstood figures in American literature. On Monday, April 5, PBS will premier the first installment in its new three-part, six-hour film series exploring the life and work of the legendary writer. Directed by award-winning filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, the series will feature voice actors Jeff Daniels as Hemingway; along with Meryl Streep, Keri Russell, Mary Louise Parker and Patricia Clarkson as Hemingway’s four wives.

WHEELING Area residents won’t have to miss their traditional fix of Celtic food, music and tradition this year due to the pandemic.
The 25th annual Wheeling Celtic Festival organized by Wheeling Heritage is going virtual this year, and those craving the festival’s food offerings there still will be able to enjoy them through “Celtic To Go” dinner boxes that will need to be pre-ordered this week.
The celebration will take place virtually from noon to 5:30 pm. on Saturday, and presentations will be streamed from Wheeling Heritage’s Facebook page.
There will be no cost to watch any of the online offerings, which will center on Celtic entertainment, food and history.
