Tomorrow kicks off the start of the weekend with the Sound of Speed Airshow at the Rosecrans Memorial Airport here in St. Joseph.
Captain Owen Compton with the Air National Guard 139th says he’s looking forward to the weekend after the last year took a toll on everyone, including the airmen.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity for our wing to host the first military airshow since March 2020,” Compton tells St. Joseph Post.
Compton says the Thunderbirds are back after their last visit in 1993.
“Our 1,200 airmen here at the 139th Airlift Wing are working really hard to put the finishing touches on our airshow and open house,” says Compton.
