Oldham E-ACT academies join Kickstart Scheme aimed at getting young people back into work Date published: 01 March 2021 The Oldham Academy North The Oldham Academy North and Royton and Crompton E-ACT Academy, both part of the multi-academy trust E-ACT, have launched their Kickstart Placement Scheme, designed to support young people in developing the skills and experience they need to find work after completion. The government’s Kickstart Scheme involves partners such as E-ACT and their academies offering six-month job placements for young people aged 16-24 who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. Placements are available in various functionalities within the academy such as Admin, IT, Site and Reception and can be tailored to suit the interests and needs of each candidate.

Oldham Academy North students continue to support their local community Date published: 21 December 2020 Oldham Academy North students decided to do all they could to support local residents during these challenging times by collecting food for the Oldham Foodbank Warm-hearted Oldham Academy North students have been doing their bit for the local community in the form of launching a social enterprise initiative of collecting for a local foodbank. Led by the student council, the Academy - one of the Manchester United Foundation’s partner schools - decided to do all they could to support local residents during these challenging times by collecting food for the Oldham Foodbank.
