Redmond Mayor Honors Student Ideas
Redmond Proficiency Academy (RPA) students Chaela Baker and Harrison Swift were recently announced as first place winners in the Oregon Mayors Association (OMA) “If I Were Mayor” contest. The annual contest gives elementary, middle and high school students the opportunity to explain policies and initiatives they would put in place if they were mayor. Contestant entries are composed of posters, essays and digital media.
Baker, a senior at RPA High School, won first place at the state level in the high school Video category and Swift won first place at the state level in the middle school Essay category.
