Jamesville, NY The four police officers involved in the shooting death of a Jamesville teen a week ago were not wearing body cameras.
Body camera footage is key evidence in police shootings: it can show exactly what’s going on the second that an officer opens fire. That’s crucial information as the state Attorney General’s Office probes the police fatal shooting of 17-year-old Judson Albahm.
But none of the officers who fired from DeWitt, state police and the sheriff’s office were equipped with body-worn cameras during the March 4 incident, Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard found.

Syracuse, NY At least one Central New York criminal benefited greatly from the yearlong Covid-19 pandemic.
Robert Shaw, 34, of Liverpool, who had a cop costume and amassed a large cache of drugs and guns, was supposed to go to prison in March 2020 after pleading guilty to two felonies.
But Shaw’s 10-year punishment was one of the first local sentencings delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic closed state prisons to new inmates and shut down courts for months.
It wasn’t until Wednesday 15 months after his guilty plea that Shaw surrendered to begin his long prison term.
We now know the name of the 17-year-old who was shot and killed by law enforcement following a mental health call in Jamesville on March 4th. The names of the officers involved are also being released.
New York State Police say units were called to assist the St. Joseph Comprehensive Psychiatric Mobile Crisis Outreach Team in handling an incident involving 17-year-old Judson Albahm. When officers arrived on the scene at Apulia Road, Albahm fled on foot with what police have confirmed was a Glock G19 Gen 3 .177 CO2 Action Pistol Handgun, otherwise known as an air pistol.
Officials say as Albahm was running from police, he pointed the air gun in their direction as if he were going to fire towards them. Ultimately the responding officers discharged their weapons, striking and killing Albahm.
