Syracuse, N.Y. A fourth person has been charged with shooting a man to death and trying to kill a woman last summer on Syracuse’s North Side.
Christopher Ayala-Pizarro, 22, has been indicted by an Onondaga County grand jury for killing Draquan McDonald near Washington Square Park. When he was indicted, Ayala-Pizarro was already in the Onondaga County Justice Center on charges accusing him of firing a gun at a crowd on the Near West Side in May 2020.

Syracuse, N.Y. Two people are accused of murdering a man and trying to kill a woman last summer in a shooting near Washington Square Park in Syracuse.
Jonathan Sanchez, 19, and Angel Rosario, 15, have been charged with murdering Draquan McDonald, 24, on the city’s North Side. McDonald died shortly after he was shot in the back near Wolf and Park streets.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A 14-year-old has been charged in the killing of an 84-year-old woman who was found stabbed and beaten to death in her Syracuse apartment.
Eva Fuld was found dead Monday afternoon, four days after authorities believe she was killed during a home invasion at her Syracuse apartment.
Fuld was a former Spanish and French teacher in the Westmoreland Central School District, according to the Westmoreland Alumni Facebook Page. She retired in 1991.
Boyfriend chokes Syracuse woman, sets curtains on fire, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. A Syracuse man was sent to jail Sunday night after police say he choked his girlfriend and set her curtains on fire.
Scotland Foster, 39, was charged with second-degree attempted arson, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree assault.
Syracuse police arrested Foster after a 35-year-old woman called 911 at 7:34 p.m. to say her boyfriend had set her curtains on fire at Ballantyne Garden Apartments. The woman told 911 dispatchers Foster’s name and description, and said he appeared to be intoxicated and tried to stab her with a screwdriver, according to police dispatches.

Clay, N.Y. State police say a man made the 3 1/2-hour trip from Springfield, Massachusetts to the Syracuse area to confront his ex-girlfriend about her new boyfriend.
But police say that when the couple rejected his attempts, the man armed himself with a steak knife and broke into their apartment through a first-floor window, forcing the couple to barricade behind a bedroom door.
State police were called to the residence at the Kimbrook Manor apartment complex on Theodolite Drive in the town of Clay around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, where they took 35-year-old Jasan Bonilla into custody.
