The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) will recruit for 1586 posts of Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) in Group A of Odisha Medical and Health Services Cadre under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. While issuing an official notice, the state government said that the recruitment is exclusively for SC and ST category candidates.
Candidates can apply for the posts on the official website of OPSC, opsc.gov.in. The application process for the same will start from August 7 and the last date of registration is August 21.
In the recruitment notification, which has been uploaded on OPSC s website, candidates have been advised by the state government to read it in detail before proceeding to apply.

BHUBANESWAR: The state government has appointed 750 doctors in different hospitals including primary health centres (PHC) and community health centres (CHC) on the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
They are appointed as medical officers in the rank of group-A (junior) of the Odisha Medical and Health Services Cadre under the health and family welfare department. The appointments are purely temporary and terminable at any time without prior notice and without assigning any reason thereof, said the official sources.
After getting approval from chief minister Naveen Patnaik, places of posting of the newly appointed doctors have been finalised through online counselling. Naveen has congratulated them. Recruitment letters have been given to these doctors on Thursday. They were also told to join their place of posting within seven days. The doctors can use their appointment letter as pass while travelling to their work
