The Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival was one of the last major festivals to take place in 2020 before the pandemic began. Today, organizers revealed the event will return to Sunshine Grove in Okeechobee, Florida March 3 – 6, 2022.
2022 marks the fifth year for the festival. Okeechobee premiered in 2016 and after additional installments in 2017 and 2018, the festival went on a one-year hiatus in 2019 before returning in 2020. The event wasn’t held this year due to the pandemic.

Dear Okeechobeeings,
We’ve missed you.
When we started out five years ago, we wanted to create a home full of exploration and discovery where a community of like-minded beautiful souls could come together and live OMF’s mantra, to be present and live epically – to Be, Here, Now.
In 2020, it was one of the world’s last music festivals and mass gatherings taking place about a week before the nationwide COVID-19 shutdown.
Last year, over 30,000 people attended Okeechobee Fest, which featured performances from Rüfüs du Sol, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Machine Gun Kelly, Kaskade and Glass Animals.

Still, a few hours into our northbound drive to the festival grounds, I persuaded my photographer/wingman to make an emergency Purell stop. Alas, we were soon to learn that Walmart s supply of hygienic hand products had run dry. It didn’t ease my growing anxiety that we were joined in the checkout line by an overweight elderly veteran in a full-fledged gas mask. (Curiously, his wife was equipped with no protective garb.) Okeechobee attendees didn t seem to worry about the spread of germs. Photo by Jake Pierce “Relax I have hand sanitizer,” my photographer reassured me, clearly perceiving the fount of dread bubbling up within me. I took a few deep breaths, and we drove on.
