WATERTOWN – Sioux Center stopped the Oahe Capital girls Saturday 4-2 in the consolation round of the SDAHA Girls Varsity Tournament at Maas Ice Arena.
Brylee Kafka scored with just nine seconds left in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, but Sioux Center scored twice in the second period. An Olivia Swenson power play goal just over five minutes into the third period to cut the Sioux Center lead to 3-2, but Kate Walhof scored a power play goal nearly seven minutes later to sew up the game for the Storm.
The Capitals’ season ends at 3-13-1-1.

YANKTON – The Oahe Capital girls earned their second and third wins of the season Sunday, winning over the Yankton Gazelles 4-1 and 5-3 on the road.
Sara Bierne scored twice in a three-goal first period in the first game and assisted on a third-period goal by Alyssa Stahl. Olivia Swenson also scored for Oahe. Abagail Stewart-Fromm stopped 13 Yankton shots.
Swenson registered a hat trick in the second game for the Capitals (3-9-0-1). Brenna Ullman also scored as the Capitals built a 4-0 lead three and a half minutes into the second period. After Yankton cut the lead to 4-3, Bierne wrapped up the game for Oahe with an empty net goal with 1:13 remaining. Sophia Peschong made 13 saves.
The Oahe Lady Capitals came back from a two goal deficit on Sunday to force overtime in Huron but the All-Stars were able to net the game winner and take it at home 4-3 over Oahe.
Micah Buffalo scored the first goal of the game early on in the first period but the All-Stars responded with three straight goals to close out the period with a 3-1 lead. Abigail Stewart-Fromm shut the door in the second and third periods as the Lady Caps were able to score once in each period as Brylee Kafka and Olivia Swenson scored to send the contest into overtime but the All-Stars were able to beat Stewart-Fromm on their 50
