Cheyenne is Hosting the 2021 Jackalope Jump
Saturday, April 17th, the Cheyenne Jackalope Jump fundraiser is happening in Lions Park! The event will benefit Special Olympics Wyoming athletes throughout the entire state.
In recent years, the Jackalope Jump challenges Wyomingites to bravely take a jump into freezing waters around the state. The funds raised for the event have gone towards supporting about 1,800 athletes across the state of Wyoming. Participants, whether it s individuals, organizations or businesses will raise money for Special Olympics Wyoming athletes and then take on the challenge of facing freezing cold water.
At the Jackalope Jump , you can dunk, soak, dip, or splash in the cold water to help raise funds to support Special Olympics Wyoming. Each jump is organized by Special Olympics Wyoming volunteers. CASPER, Wyo Casper’s Jackalope Jump, the annual frigid plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Wyoming athletes, is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, at the Restoration Church parking lot. It will run for one hour, from 10:00 am-11.
“Friends, neighbors, and co-workers form teams across the state and participate in at least one jump,” the event post states.
Funds raised help over 1,800 Special Olympics Wyoming athletes practice and compete in the 2021 winter and summer seasons at no cost to them or their families. Similar events are held across the state.
Group protests mask mandate
TORRINGTON (WNE) â A group of area residents held a peaceful demonstration in and around the Goshen County Courthouse on Dec. 15 to protest mask mandates.
Citizen Danielle Murphy created an event through Facebookâs social media platform entitled âRestore our rights protest.â The events description announced a calling for a âpeaceful gathering to show support and assert our rights under the Wyoming Constitution.â
The event description also said, âMany other county sheriffs and attorneys have come forward, stating they will not enforce these unconstitutional mandates. We ask ours to stand with us and do the same.â
