FULTON â The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently elected two committed community members to their board of directors.
Tracy Wimmer joined the board in February and Sarah Ingerson was elected in March. Both will serve as directors of the board through 2023 and will help implement partnerships that work toward ensuring every resident of Oswego County has the opportunity and access needed to achieve their full potential.
âThese new board members bring strong expertise and diverse experience to our engaged and insightful board of directors,â said Christy Huynh, chair of the governance committee of board and past president. âTracy and Sarah are committed to strengthening Oswego County and their enthusiasm about United Way will drive change for our communityâs future health and well-being.â
OSWEGO - Her ongoing dedication to bringing teams together to do good work recently earned Chena Tucker, director of SUNY Oswegoâs Office of Business and Community Relations (OBCR), the Nancy L. Premo â Woman of Distinction Award from the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GOFCC).
âChena embodies the very essence of this award. She is kind, passionate and community focused,â said Katie Toomey, director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. âShe brings a fresh perspective, and innovative ideas to the workplace and always puts her co-workers first.â
The Nancy L. Premo Award is named for a former member of the senior leadership team and vice president of human resources for the Greater Oswego Chamber of Commerce and CenterState CEO. OSWEGO â The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Oswego County, a division of SUNY Oswegoâs Office of Business and Community Relations, will hold a virtual volunteer recruitment event via Zoom from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 22 for adults age 55 and over, who are interested in becoming a volunteer with the program. Pre-registration is required to attend the event.

RSVP volunteers lead with experience, making a difference in their communities and in the lives of their fellow citizens every day. To be eligible to become a volunteer with RSVP, individuals must be 55 years or older and have a passion for supporting their community. Interested older adults will complete a short application indicating their areas of interest for volunteer work.
