A man was reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip in Lake Tekapo on Saturday.
Police have recovered the body of a man overdue from a fishing trip in the Twizel-Takapō/Tekapo area in South Canterbury. In a statement police said his body was recovered from the Tekapo hydro canal which runs between Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki on Wednesday. Earlier on Wednesday, police said they had been focussing the search in the Tekapo Canal area after the man was reported missing in the Lake Tekapo area in the Mackenzie District on Saturday. On Wednesday morning a police spokeswoman said the police national dive team was continuing to search an area of interest along the canal.
