Ellwood City will offer residents new trash options starting in June
Ellwood City Ledger
ELLWOOD CITY – For several years now, many have considered the borough s residential waste system trash, but area officials are trying to change that.
Ellwood City Council voted unanimously Monday night to revamp the current trash system, which forces residents to buy yellow bags at about $17 per roll of 10 and pay a $3 monthly recycling fee, by awarding a new bid for the collection of refuse, recycling and yard waste to Valley Waste in Big Beaver.
Though Valley Waste currently manages Ellwood City s trash, starting June 1, it ll offer residents different rates and options to give individuals and families more choices that better fit each of them.
