DECATURÂ â Seniors from the Class of 2020 didn t get proms or graduation, and while it won t be ânormal,â the Class of 2021 will at least get a graduation.
âIt was weird at first with all the guidelines, being remote for the first quarter and no football in the fall,â said Warrensburg-Latham High School senior Jason Edwards. âWe had football in the spring and got to play a little bit. But besides the fact we had to follow certain things, it wasn t terrible. We didn t have prom, but we re having a senior send-off party. We re getting dressed up, so we got sort of a prom, but not exactly like prom.â
MOUNT ZION â Performers among the Columbus East High School show choir instantly broke out into a music number following their introduction.
The eight male and nine female students of Center Stage began their 1:30 p.m. spot performing their own rendition of I Like to Dance by Hot Chelle Rae, accompanied by a little over half a dozen other students playing instruments behind the choreographed number.
Quickly changing pace, the performance changed to Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. Dance moves mixed with solos, group singing and instrumentals kept up with the song s familiar and catchy beat; some of the instruments included a saxophone, trumpet and drum set. Â
