Staycation frenzy sparks £600m merger of Away Resorts and rival Aria Wednesday 4th August 2021 07:45 BST Sky News has learnt that Away Resorts is buying rival Aria Resorts, which operates 14 sites across the UK, in a deal that could be confirmed as soon as Wednesday. Sources said that Away, which was recently acquired by CVC Capital Partners, had agreed to buy Aria from the investment firm Angelo Gordon. Aria operates popular resorts such as Retallack Resort & Spa in Cornwall and The Bay Colwell on The Isle of Wight. The deal will bring Aria under the leadership of Away s management team, which is led by the chairman, Rooney Anand, and chief executive Carl Castledine.

Aria Resorts expecting record results despite Covid

A HOLIDAY company said to be the fastest-growing in the UK says it is on course to post record revenues and profits despite Covid-19. Aria Resorts has announced John Dunford, former boss of the Bourne Leisure Group – operator of Haven, Butlins and Warner Leisure hotels – as its non-executive chairman. The Bournemouth-based company, formed in 2017, has quickly established a significant position in the industry by acquiring 14 UK sites. Its capital expenditure plan has seen more than £100million invested in its sites, which include Swanage Bay View, as well as spots in Devon, the Isle of Wight, Yorkshire and Scotland. Aria says it will report impressive revenue and profit growth in both its lettings and property sales divisions despite Covid-19.
